My journey began at age seven when I first learned to sew, carefully stitching a skirt for my beloved teddy bear from a brown floral fabric that I still remember vividly. It was probably the straightest seam I’ve ever sewn—done with the utmost care under the loving guidance of my mother, who was taught by her mother before her. Shortly after, I picked up crocheting, and it quickly became a beloved tradition—each winter brought a new handmade scarf.

Though I later earned a business degree, creativity was always calling. In 2001, I co-founded the Luisa Clare brand with my sister. As the designer, I focused on creating handcrafted leather handbags that blended traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. Our collections featured intricate appliqué, weaving, beadwork, and original prints, earning recognition in Australia and internationally for their unique, feminine designs.

After my daughter was born, I transitioned from fashion design to blogging and digital pattern creation, allowing me to combine my professional skills with my lifelong passion for making. Today, I specialize in sewing patterns, crochet tutorials, and clear, approachable guides for makers of all levels.

• My craft room in Australia is her happy place, where I designs patterns with a coffee in hand, often accompanied by my mischievous cat, Aria, and adorable Moodle.
• I’m obsessed with the color pink. I didn’t have any pink clothing as a child and now I can’t go long without wearing something pink. You’ll see a lot of it in this blog!
