- Yarn: Any super bulky yarn (14-6ply, category 6) total 388m/424y.
- Crochet hook: 9mm
- Tapestry needle: To weave ends.

Chunky Poncho Video Tutorial
Row 1
- In color A. Chain 97. (Any odd number)
- Double crochet into 4th chain and dc across. Turn.
Row 2
- Ch4 (counts as first dc + ch1), skip 1, dc. *Skip 1, ch1, dc.
- Repeat from * to end. Last stitch will be dc into top of the turning chain.
Row 3
- Ch3 (counts as first dc), Dc into first chain-1space.
- Dc across row. (1dc in the top of the dc in the row , and 1dc into chain spaces.) End with dc into 3rd chain of turning chain. (Still have odd number of stitches)
Row 4 – 17
- Repeat rows 2 and 3. Row 17 is a double crochet row. Fasten off.
Row 18
- Change to color B. Repeat row 2 and 3. Fasten off.
Joining and Finishing
- Fold in half lengthwise and stitch along shoulder as shown. Leave a 14” (35.5cm) gap for the neck (total neck circumference is 28”/71cm). I used a crochet slip stitch along the seam.
- Turn the right way out. Attach color B to edge at bottom open end.
- Chain 3 (counts as dc) and dc along edge.
- Fasten off and weave ends.
- Block the poncho. For the shoulder I wet the seam with water spray and put something heavy on it to make the folded edge sit well.
