It is definitely best to use cotton yarn for these crochet facial rounds. Acrylic yarn is not suitable is it will not absorb water.

Cotton yarn can be washed in a machine and is dryer friendly. Also, your handiwork will soften with each wash, making the perfect face scrubbies. One skein of cotton can make four to five scrubbies.

This round face scrubbie pattern uses half double crochet stitch. Once you get confident, you can use other stitches such as puff stitch to create even more texture.

Crochet gauge is unimportant for this project since your scrubbies can be any size.

Round 1:

1. Begin with a crochet magic ring or chain 3 and slip stitch to close.Hdc 8 stitches inside the circle.
2. Slip stitch to the first hdc to complete the round.

Round 2:

1. Chain 1.
2. 2hdc in each stitch around the circle.
3. Slip stitch to complete the round.

Round 3:

1. Chain 1.
2. *2hdc in the first stitch, hdc 1.
3. Repeat from * all the way round.
4. Slip stitch to complete the round.

Round 4:

1. Chain 1.
2. *2hdc in first stitch, hdc.
3. Repeat from * all around.
4. Slip stitch to finish.
5. End off yarn and weave in the ends.

How big should crochet face scrubbies be? A recommended diameter is around 4 inches (10cm), but you can make them as large or small as you wish. If you would prefer a slightly larger scrubby, work another round as follows:

1. Chain 1.
2. *2hdc in first st, 1 hdc in each of next 2 stitches.
3. Repeat from * around, slip stitch to finish.

Adding a Strap to a Face Scrubby

1. Join a new color and sc around the edge.
2. Slip stitch to close.
3. *Chain1, 1 sc in next 3 stitches. Turn
4. Repeat from * until the strap is the correct length.

5. Slip stitch to join to the other side.
