Avoid cotton yarn, as it won’t stretch enough in the wrist area.

Gauge

13 st and 14 rows sc with 5mm (H-8) hook. Guage is important to get your sizing correct so I suggest you crochet a swatch and adjust your tension or crochet hook size to match. You don’t want your fingerless gloves to be too big or too small.

Dimensions

The finished crochet gloves are approximately 8” long by 8” in circumference at the widest (20 x 20cm). You can easily adjust the length of the fingerless glove by adding or subtracting rows.

Wrist Ribbing (Color A Purple)

1. Using the 4.5 mm hook and color A, chain 16 (15 plus 1).
2. Sc into the 2nd ch, sc into rest of chains (15 stitches), turn.
3. *Ch 1 (doesn’t count as stitch) sc into base of chain.
4. Scblo across row until last stitch. Sc into last stitch.
5. Repeat from * for 26 more rows. (28 rows total – 14 ribs)
6. Fold the band in half and slip stitch to join the edges.
7. Turn the band the right way out.

Row 1 (Color A Purple)

1. Change to 5mm hook.
2. Sc around top of band. (28 stitches –1 sc into each peak and valley.)
3. Sl st to join.

Row 2 (Color B Blue)

1. Join color B. Do not cut color A as you can carry the colors on the inside.
2. Chain 1 (does not counts as first sc), sc into base of chain.
3. Sc around row.
4. Sl st to join.

Row 3 (Color A Purple)

1. With color A, ch 3 (counts as first dc).
2. Dc around row.
3. Sl st to join.

Row 4 – 7
