Supplies for the Lace Cowl Crochet Pattern

You will need:

• Worsted weight yarn (10ply) #4. Approximately 150 m (165y)
• 5mm (H-8) hook.
• Tapestry needle – to weave ends.

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet stitch
• st/sts =stitch/ stitch
• sl st = slip stitch

Round 1

1. Chain 70 (or multiple of 5).
2. Use a sl st to join the chain and create a loop. (Ensure that the chain is not twisted.)
3. Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch) and sc into each chain.
4. Sl st to join.

Round 2

1. Chain 3 (counts as first dc), (1 dc, ch 1, 2dc) into base of chain, sk3.
2.  *(2dc, ch1, 2dc) into next stitch, sk3.
3. Repeat from * around the cowl.
4. Join round with a sl st.

Round 3

1. Slip stitch to first ch-1 space.
2. Chain 3 (counts as first dc), (1 dc, ch 1, 2dc) in that space.
3.  *(2dc, ch1, 2dc) into next ch-1 space.
4. Repeat from * around the cowl.
5. Join round with a sl st.

Round 4 to 14

1. Repeat round 3 for rest of cowl until desired height.
