Mesh Scarf Crochet Pattern (Free Pattern!)

Mesh Scarf Crochet Pattern

Supplies

• Yarn: Worsted yarn (10ply) #4 Approximately 330m/360y
• Crochet hook: H-8 (5mm) hook  
• Tapestry needle: For weaving ends.

For the sample, I used 1.5 balls of Lionbrand Ferris Wheel in Cotton Candy (worsted weight) with a 5mm hook. This beautiful yarn makes the scarf soft and light to wear and suitable for Fall or Spring. You can use any worsted weight or DK yarn to make this scarf.

• ch = chain stitch

Crochet Mesh Scarf, Step by Step Instructions

Row 1 (dc row)

1. Chain 34 for worsted yarn (or 38 if you are substituting DK yarn).
2. Insert hook in 4^th chain from hook and dc.
3. Dc across row. Turn.

Row 2 (dc row)

1. Chain 3 (counts as first dc).
2. Dc across row. Last stitch into the top of the chain 3. Turn. (31 stitches)

Row 3 (mesh row)

1. Chain 5 (counts as first tr plus 1ch).
2. Skip 1 stitch, tr into next stitch.
3. *Ch1, sk 1, tr 1.
4. Repeat from * to end of row. Last tr is in the top of the chain.
5. Turn. (16 tr stitches, 15 ch-1 spaces)

Row 4 (dc row)

1. Chain 3 (counts as first dc).
2. *Dc into the ch-1 space, dc into top of the tr stitch.
3. Repeat from * until last stitch which is the ch5 from row 3.
4. Dc around the chain, dc into the 4^th chain. Turn. (31 stitches)

Row 5 (dc row)

1. Chain 3 (counts as first dc).
2. Dc across row. Last stitch into the top of the chain 3.
3. Turn. (31 stitches)

Row 6 and Beyond

1. Repeat the pattern in rows 3, 4, 5 until your scarf is 65 inches (165cm) long (or your desired length).
2. Make sure you end with the 2 dc rows.

Finishing

1. Weave in the ends.
