Special Stitch – 7dc-cl (7 double crochet cluster)

Instructions for 7dc cluster

1. *YO, insert hook, pull up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook).
2. Repeat from * 6 times into the same stitch (8 loops on hook).
3. Yarn over and pull through all 8 loops. (1 loop on hook)
4. Chain 1 to secure.

1. ROW 1 – Chain 67 (multiple of 6+1). Dc into the 4^th chain and across row. Turn.
2. ROW 2 – Chain 3 (counts as first dc) and dc across row. (last dc into turning chain) Turn. (65 stitches)

Row 3 (plain mesh)

1. Ch4 (counts as dc and 1 chain), skip 1, dc.
2. *(Skip 1, ch1, dc) across row. You will end with a dc into the turning chain.
3. Turn.

Row 4 (cluster mesh)

1. Ch4 (counts as dc and 1 ch), skip the ch-1 space, 7dc-cluster in top of dc in row below, ch1 (you will have 2 chains – 1 at end of cluster and 1 more).
2. *(dc, skip the ch-1 space, ch1) 5 times. 7dc-cluster in top of dc below, ch1.
3. Repeat from * to end, ch1, dc into top of turning chain. Turn. (6 clusters total)

Row 5 (plain mesh)

1. Ch4 (counts as dc and 1 chain), skip the ch-1 space, dc.
2. *(Ch1, skip the ch-1 space, dc) across row. End with a dc into the turning chain. Turn.

Row 6 (offset cluster mesh)

1. Ch4 (counts as dc and 1 chain). (Dc in top of dc below, ch1) 3 times. 7dc-cluster in top of dc in row below, ch1.
2. *(dc in top of dc below) 5 times. 7dc-cluster in top of dc in row below, ch1.
3. Repeat from * to end 4 dc’s. Dc into last 4dc’s below. Last dc is into the turning chain. Turn. (5 clusters total)

Row 7-9

• ROW 7 – Same as row 5 (plain mesh)
• ROW 8 – Same as row 4 (cluster mesh)
• ROW 9 – Same as row 5 (plain mesh)

Row 10 and 11 (dc rows)

1. ROW 10 – Chain 3 (counts as first dc) and dc across row into each dc and ch-1 from the row below. (last dc into turning chain) Turn. (65 stitches).
2. ROW 11 – Chain 3, dc across row.

Row 12 (treble mesh rows)

1. Ch4 (counts as first tr), tr into next stitch, ch1.
2. *Sk1, tr into next stitch, tr into next stitch, ch1.
3. Repeat from *across row until last 3 stitches.
4. Sk1, tr in next stitch, tr into top of turning chain. Turn.

Row 13, 14,15,16 (treble mesh rows)

You will be doing treble stitches into the tops of the trebles from the row below.

1. Ch4 (counts as first tr), tr in next stitch.
2. *Skip the ch-1 space, tr into next stitch, tr into next stitch, ch1.
3. Repeat across row until last 2 trebles, tr into next stitch, tr into top of turning chain. Turn.
4. Repeat for 3 more rows (5 treble rows in total).

Repeat Pattern
